Smart Card enables information transfer between authority company and the meter. Purchased credit
information is transfered from authority to the meter and consumption information is transfered from meter to the authority. Provides a better customer service for the authorities.

The word “meter” is used as devices for measuring the amount of energy and water in residential,
commercial and industrial facilities accurately. In this traditional definition, features other then metering
consumption amounts are not taken into consideration.

GENERAL FEATURES OF TENGYUE PREPAYMENT METERING SYSTEMS

1. System works according to prepayment credit basis and gives the subscribers usage right according to the
purchased credit amount.
2. System is completely secure. It is impossible to copy the smart cards. Lately high security requiring banking
system also switched to electronic chip integrated smart cards intead of magnetic tape system for credit cards.
3. Meters displays subscribers consumption and information messages. This feature makes meters user friendly.

5. Every meter has its own smart card.
6. Meter detects illegal use attempt, stores this in memory and close the meter and stop water usage.
7. Meter alerts the subscriber before the credit runs out.
8. When the credit in the meter ends and new credit is not loaded, meter allows subscriber to use back up
credit. Backup credit is an advance credit with an amount defined by the authorities.
9. When backup credit ends and new credit is not loaded, meter closes its relay/valve and stops water usage. “BUY CREDIT” message is viewed on the meter' LCD.

10. Subscriber is alerted by display message before meter battery ends. If the subscriber do not take necessary actions and battery ends, meter store all information to the memory. By this way meter and consumption information is protected.
11. Electronic smart card becomes out of use if it is tried to be used for another meter.
12. If the subscriber loses his/her card, authority provides a new card and cancels the previous one.
13. If someone find the card, as it is no more registered to the system, it can not be used again.
14. Information provided by the meter:
• Amount of consumption
• Remaining credit
• Total consumption in certain time frame
• Latest meter water cutoff time
• Latest unauthorized intervention date
• Latest credit loading date
• Real date and time information
• Meter type and serial number
• Battery status
• Authority may acquire any information anytime
15. Authority may apply different tariffs at different zones. Authorities tariff changes are transfered to all sales point instantly and tariff informations are updated.
16. Subscribers have the fixed price waranty in the prepayment system. Subscribers are not effected by price
increases till the previously purchased credits end.
17. Meter messages are displayed on the LCD. “ Credit Low, Buy Credit, Control, Service, Penalty, Battery,
Battery Low, Battery Off, Cancelled, Wrong, Error” etc.
